Number 9: Ham Kummst

This is actually an Austrian song by Seiler und Speer, which scored double platinum in Austria upon it’s release in 2015. And even though it didn’t score nearly as high in Germany, it’s still a popular song at festivals like oktoberfest because of it’s great rhythm and humouristic nature.

The lyrics are about a man who just can’t say to a good party, and pushes it so far that his wife leaves him.

Here’s the original video:

And here’s the song preformed at oktoberfest:

Original lyrics:

English translation:

Last night was a hard game for me,
the fact that I didn’t return home right away, was clear from the beginning!
Last night was a hard game for me,
I can’t remember what happened yesterday!
And she’s like:
If you come home like that one more time, we’ll be divorced,
If you come home like that one more time, we’ll be divorced, my friend!
Last night was a hard game for me,
everyone invited me,
and you can’t just say no, no, no!
Last night was a hard game for me,
I was entertained, and you can’t just go home, home, home!
And she’s like:
If you come home like that one more time, we’ll be divorced,
If you come home like that one more time, we’ll be divorced, my friend!
Last night wasn’t a hard game for me, I got home at eight,
with flowers and sparkling wine!
Last night was a hard game for me though,
Because on the table there was a letter, and my wife she was gone, gone, gone!
And she wrote:
If you come home like that one more time, I won’t give a damn,
If you come home like that one more time, then have fun, because I’ll be gone!
Now you got what you wanted, we’re divorced now,
You won’t get the children soon,
The dog is not yours either, and the house is mine,
and if you can’t believe it, it’s written on the divorce papers, black on white.
If you come to me one more time, I’ll call the police
If you come to me one more time, you’ll get put in prison.
And it’ll go like:
Tatü Tata, Tatü Tata, like Tatü Tata, what does this dude want here!
Tatü Tata, it’ll go like Tatü Tata, like Tatü Tata, what does this dude want here!
